Sarah, our mid level provider, is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner credentialed by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2011 from Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas. While working as an RN in the Cardiovascular ICU and Progressive Care Unit, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner degree from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, Texas. After working in women’s health for 5 years, she went back to school and earned her Post-Master’s Certification in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate from the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Texas. She enjoys caring for patients with neuropathy and desires a collaborative patient-provider relationship to help patients achieve their goals with focus on decreasing pain and improving quality of life.
Derek Mitchell M.D. is our Medical Director . Dr. Mitchell is a board-certified anesthesiologist credentialed by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He earned his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine and continued his medical training by completing a residency in Anesthesiology at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. He has practiced in Tyler since 2002 and specializes in cardiothoracic anesthesia and acute pain management. Dr. Mitchell is excited to help the team at Neuropathy Treatment Clinics of Texas - Tyler to treat patients with symptoms of neuropathy. He is married to Dr. Li-Yu Mitchell and has three children - Sophia (14), Zachary (14) and Julia (11). Dr. Mitchell is an avid runner, enjoys playing golf, piloting airplanes, traveling to new places and loves to spend time with his family and friends.
