Heather earned her Bachelor of Science in Professional Biology from the University of North Alabama and completed her Physician Assistant studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has been board-certified with the NCCPA since 1997.
With over 22 years of experience serving the East Texas/Tyler area, Heather has worked in orthopedics and as a surgical assistant in Alabama and Georgia, physical medicine and rehabilitation with Trinity Clinic/Mother Frances in Tyler, and pain management with Azalea Orthopedics.
Heather has been married to William "Billy" Rasnake for 25 years, and they have three sons: Jakob, Joshua, and Samuel. In her free time, Heather enjoys singing at community events and church, leading praise and worship, and mentoring youth in the praise and worship band at church. She also participates in Mission Arlington Spring Break mission trips. Additionally, she loves playing music, traveling with her family, kayaking, hiking, and having coffee or tea conversations with friends.
Derek Mitchell M.D. is our Medical Director . Dr. Mitchell is a board-certified anesthesiologist credentialed by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He earned his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine and continued his medical training by completing a residency in Anesthesiology at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. He has practiced in Tyler since 2002 and specializes in cardiothoracic anesthesia and acute pain management. Dr. Mitchell is excited to help the team at Neuropathy Treatment Clinics of Texas - Tyler to treat patients with symptoms of neuropathy. He is married to Dr. Li-Yu Mitchell and has three children - Sophia (14), Zachary (14) and Julia (11). Dr. Mitchell is an avid runner, enjoys playing golf, piloting airplanes, traveling to new places and loves to spend time with his family and friends.
